On Saturday, April 27, 2013, at St. John the Evangelist Church at Warthausen, in the Diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart in Germany, Deacon Frank Schwegler, CR, was ordained to the priesthood by Archbishop Jean-Claude Perisset, Apostolic Nuncio in Germany. More than twenty priests concelebrated in the liturgy, including Provincial Superior Fr. Wiesław Śpiewak and eleven other Resurrectionists of the Polish Province. The invited guests shared in a celebratory dinner after the Eucharist.
On the following day, Sunday April 28th, Fr. Frank Schwegler presided at his first solemn Eucharist in the same parish church. Among the 17 concelebrants was Friar Bernhardin Seither, Provincial of the German Province of Conventual Franciscans, who preached the homily.
Frank entered the Resurrectionist Novitiate after finishing studies in theology at Tübingen and Lantershofen, in 2008. He professed his first vows in 2009 and Perpetual Vows on July 20, 2012. Fr. Frank’s first assignment as a priest will be at St. John the Baptist Parish in Auerbach, Germany.
